Welcome to HauntedHouston.com A concise listing of Houston area haunts. Celebrating the Halloween season with all the great local Houston haunted houses and ScreamParks. Haunted Houston tours all the attractions, objectively rates, describes and provides links to each site. Houston haunted houses are some of the best in the country, providing patrons with countless screams and thrills, year after year.HauntedHouston.com uses a 1-10 skulls rating system: Rating criteria include scare factor, makeup, actors, production values, scenic décor & design, creative originality, props & animatronics, special FX, park size, layout, attraction theme(s), ticket options, location, and overall feel. Price is not factored, because there are huge haunted house ScreamParks like Phobia, with hundreds of actors, or smaller venues like Kingwood Asylum, with just a few dozen. Only gross rip-offs will be addressed. Gladly, we are happy to officially confirm, there is not one scam artist in the bunch this year. Some are better, some are worse, but they are all trying to bring some scares to patrons. HauntedHouston.com does not sell banner space on this site or ask for payments from local haunts. HauntedHouston.com does not request free tickets for local attractions. Google may offer click-through ads, but no ads are sold directly to any Houston haunts. World-class haunts like ScreamWorld or Phobia are perennial favorites, but new attractions pop up almost every year. New on the commercial haunt scene in 2012 is Kingwood Asylum. There is a vast range of haunts in our metropolitan area, from high-tech intensity to family oriented fun. For example, The Dungeon of Doom is a kid friendly attraction in nearby Kemah, while Phobia is more intense in it’s scare factor and massive size. ScreamWorld has amazing makeup and costuming, while Nightmare on the Bayou is conveniently located on the edge of downtown.
